Pomegranate
Pomegranates are primarily grown in Turkey’s Mediterranean, Aegean, and Southeastern Anatolia regions. At the provincial level, Antalya, Mersin, Muğla, and Adana lead in production. Approximately 60% of Turkey’s pomegranate production takes place in the Mediterranean region, 25% in the Aegean, and the remainder in Southeastern Anatolia.
Harvest Season
Depending on the variety and region, pomegranates are harvested between August and November. Since the plant has a long flowering period, the fruits do not ripen all at once. Therefore, harvesting is usually done 2–3 times over a period of 20 to 30 days.
