Kapya Pepper
In our country, pepper is an essential part of our cuisine and can be grown in almost every region. With a wide variety of types, peppers are highly diverse. Kapya pepper, which is sweet (not spicy), red in color, and thick-fleshed, is especially rich in vitamin C.
Harvest Season
The harvest time for peppers varies depending on the variety’s earliness as well as the growing and maintenance conditions. In general, harvesting should begin once the peppers have reached proper development.
If harvesting is delayed too long, the quality may decline, so peppers should be picked when they reach their typical size. In the case of Kapya peppers, the fruits are usually left on the plant until they are fully red, then harvested in one or two rounds.
It is recommended to carry out the harvest in the early morning or late afternoon hours.
